Definition of chlorodifluoromethane (chclf2)

1) this chemical is released into the atmosphere directly from aerosol cans. The use of this chemical has been banned in aerosol cans in the United States, but not in many parts of the world. There are research efforts to find chemical replacements for these compounds because they are know to reach the stratosphere and destroy ozone.
